Govt To Launch Cancer Prevention Centre At District-Level of Maha: Minister

Kolhapur, Feb 10 : Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Thursday that the goverment would take an initiative, through district planning development committee, to start a centre in every district of the state for prevention of cancer. Addressing inaugural function of modern radiation machine based on 3D technology at Kolhapur Cancer Centre (KCC), he said that the government would take initiative to start a cancer preventive ‘Hope Express’, as started at KCC, in every district through DPDC. Tope further said, “Due to advances in health sector, we need the guidance and research of doctors, such as Dr Suraj Pawar of KCC, for exact diagnosis of cancer. I will pursue the matter with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to start the ‘Hope Express’ at the district-level for prevention of cancer.” The minister lauded Dr Pawar for working for poor cancer patients.
