Maha: Marathwada Registers 2,109 Covid Cases, 2 Deaths
Aurangabad, Jan 15: The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 2,109 fresh Covid-19 cases and 2 related deaths, health authorities informed on Saturday.
Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district reported 520 cases and single death followed by Jalna with 163 cases and one death, Nanded district had 553 cases, Latur had 502 cases, Osmanabad had 173 cases, Parbhani had 96 cases, Beed had 64 cases and Hingoli had 38 cases, they added.
Meanwhile, 43,211 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported across the state, taking the total number of infections to 71,24,278.
The state also registered 19 more Covid deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,756.
Meanwhile,33,356 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 67,17,125. The recovery rate currently stands at 94.28 per cent while the fatality rate is at 1.98 per cent.
At present, there are 2,61,658 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Meanwhile, 238 fresh cases of the Omicron variant were reported in the state, taking the tally up to 1,605.
So far 859 patients have been cured, they added.
