‘Covid Situation In Odisha Under Control’ Chief Minister Of Odisha

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik however, has maintained that the Covid19 situation in the state is under control and appealed to the people not to be panicked.
Reviewing the Covid19 situation in the state on Tuesday virtually, Patnaik directed the administration to intensify the vaccination drive in the state and administer the precaution dose to medical staff, police personnel, government officials, front line workers including the media persons and persons with comorbidity on priority.
The Chief Minister said the covid management in the third phase is in the right direction to date and the Covid19 cases during the last few days have almost stabilized. The active Covid19 cases in many cities in the country have also started declining.
He further said very few Covid19 patients are being hospitalized due to the prevalence of mild symptoms among them which is an encouraging trend but he cautioned the people to be very careful and advised them to follow all Covid19 protocols.
The Chief Minister stressed micro containment zones, awareness campaigns and strict observance of covid protocols besides regular monitoring of the covid patents in home isolation.
Additional Chief Secretary Health R K Sharma said out of the total 11,291 beds for Covid19 patients only 11 per cent beds are filled and 92.7 per cent of the people have already received the first dose vaccination while 70.07 per cent the second dose.
About 45.8 per cent of children in the age groups of 15 to 18 have been vaccinated in the state so far while 14 per cent have already taken the precaution dose.
