Cong Demands Free Booster Doses Of Covid-19 In Delhi

New Delhi, April 9  The Delhi unit of the Congress party on Saturday demanded the Delhi government to provide free booster doses of Covid-19 to all eligible. “Arvind Kejriwal-led government should instruct the private hospitals to provide free booster jabs. People are not in a position to afford booster doses in private hospitals,” Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Anil Kumar said. He asserted that Delhi could have avoided the deaths of innocent people had the government purchased Covid-19 vaccines directly from the companies did well on time, as had been done by other States, but it waited for the free doses to start the vaccination drive in the national capital, though vaccines were available at private hospitals for exorbitant rates. On Friday, the Centre announced that precaution dose of Covid-19 vaccines will be made available to 18+ population group at private vaccination centres. The administration of precaution dose will start from April 10, the Health Ministry said. All those who are more than 18 years of age and have completed nine months after the administration of second dose, would be eligible for precaution dose, it said.
