32 More Omicron Cases, Odisha Tally Out-numbers 200

Bhubaneswar, Jan 15: The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar today informed the Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department that another 32 cases of Omicron variant of Covid-19 have been detected in the State.

The ILS, Bhubaneswar found the fresh Omicron cases after genome sequencing of the samples. With this, the Omicron tally in the State mounted to 202.

Earlier in the day, the Odisha government stated a total of 10,856 fresh Covid cases were detected in last 24 hours. Odisha’s total COVID-19 cases surged to 11,22,735, including 61, 809 active cases.

Of the total fresh cases, 6293 were quarantine cases and the remaining are local contacts. Of them, 0-18 years were 1021.
