Adani Foundation Donates Ambulance For Mobile Health Care Prog
Chennai, Mar 23: The Adani Foundation has been running community development programs in the areas of Health, Education, Livelihood and Community infrastructure Development across 71 villages. These villages are from 11 Panchayats and the development programme focuses on children, adolescents, women and differently abled people. Today the foundation flagged off the Mobile Health Care Vehicle programme with the donation of an ambulance for these areas.
The Adani Foundation has now a new dedicated vehicle towards the mobile health care program. Mr. Jai Khurana, CEO of Southern Ports, Adani flagged off the new mobile Ambulance for its mission. Beginning from September 22, 2021 as a pilot phase, the Mobile Health Care Unit (MHCU) outreach programme was implemented in 12 select villages covering 3 panchayats. As of March 15, 2022, the programme has screened over 6294 people so far. Noting that many of the villages under the intervention programme were at a far distance from the health care facilities, a plan was created to provide basic medical assistance for the community via a mobile health care programme. The purpose of this intervention being to identify health issues among the local populace at an early stage, provide needed medication and to refer them for further medical interventions as needed. All people over the age of 18 are screened under this programme. For this programme, the Adani Foundation has signed a partnership agreement with Help Age India as implementing partner.
Today, the Adani Foundation takes this progamme forward with their own mobile Ambulance vehicle which will cover the said villages. It will be operational on all days driven with the purpose of providing quality medical assistance care for the needy. Representatives from the Adani Foundation said, “Our purpose is to cover as many people as possible that we can under our Health Care Initiative. This is one more project where the Adani Foundation has stepped up to address issues facing the local communities. The Mobile Ambulance programme is a continuation of the Health Care programme begun last year and we are happy that now we can provide basic health care for an increased number of villages.” UNI
