Transporting 155 cows, sick,injured, illegally to WB, STF apprehends the accused
Bhubaneswar, Nov 20 : A team of Special Task Force (STF) have apprehended two accused from the Panikoili Police station area of Jajpur district on the charge of illegal and inhuman transportation of cattle to West Bengal.
STF sources here on Sunday said on the basis of the information, a team of STF conducted a raid with the help of Jajpur District Police on the intervening night of November 19 and 20 at Sahapur Hat Padia under Panikoili Police Station jurisdiction of Jajpur district and apprehended Kamar Siyajuddin Khan and Mohammed Karim of Bhadrak.
During the search, police seized 155 Cattles, one 16 Wheeler Truck, Rs 34,500 in cash and other incriminating materials from their possession.
The accused could not produce any document in support of the transportation of cattle, for which they have been detained and handed over to Panikoili Police station for necessary legal action.
The seized cattle were shifted to the nearest cattle shed (GOSALA) at Jajpur Road for their care and safety.
A case has been registered at Panikoili Police Station U/s.429/120(B)/34 IPC r/w. Sec. 11 Prevention
of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960 r/w. 192(A) MV Act.
As some cows were found to be sick/ injured, veterinary doctors were called. And are being treated.
