Amid Snow, 6 Persons From Kishtwar Go Missing

Srinagar, Feb 23 : Six persons on their way to Kishtwar from south Kashmir’s Anantnag district have gone missing and there is no information about their whereabouts for the past 24 hours, officials said. South Kashmir’s hilly areas received two to four feet of snow which began Tuesday night. Officials said the six persons from the Warwan area of Kishtwar went on foot from Anantnag via Margan Top in Anantnag and there is no information about them. “It has been more than 20 hours since they made their last call from Margan Top, but they haven’t reached their homes till now,” the official said. He said the Army has been roped in to trace the six persons. “But so far their whereabouts could not be ascertained,” he added. The district authorities of Anantnag and Kishtwar are in touch over the issue.
