When Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was being conceived then a message went out that, the Gandhi family would not be a part of that. And that would surely chisel out some of the stains about the party being nose-laid by Gandhi family.
Even it was rumoured that, none from the Gandhi family would be a constant participant of the ‘yatra’.
However, the scene on the ground is different as Rahul Gandhi has remained an, as if, inalienable part and parcel of the Yatra.
In every phase of the Yatra, the only man shown in camera or one who interacts with the media, is Rahul Gandhi all along.
Hardly one finds any other leader of the party making it to the limelight in any form.
After the polls were announced and none from the Gandhi family were anywhere on the reckoning, there was a feeling as if the Family has opened the doors to internal evolution.
Even the Bharat Jodo Yatra would be a non-Gandhi affair except intermittent appearances of Sonia Ganhdi or Rahul Gandhi or Pryanka Gandhi Vadra.
But at last it has culminated in a climate that reveals a irreversible dominance of the Family, come what may.
It would have been more politically prudent to project a different image so that, the opponents would not have had the leverage of criticism.
Even the message among the people also goes that, it is again the same stereotype which has remained a cyclic phenomenon in the Congress without any refreshing note.
