Baby With Rare Condition Born With Over Half His Body Covered In Hair, Pic Goes Viral

The newborn baby’s appearance has baffled everyone including doctors. The baby has been born with a dark, hair-covered, back due to a skin condition. The baby, Arrived on December 28, and was born in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Upon hearing of the unusual-looking baby, the birth reportedly drew crowds of locals coming to get a look. Doctors at the Community Health Center, in the Bawan village, said the baby had a condition called Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevus.

Both mother and child were healthy after the delivery and, upon examination, it was found that the child had Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevus - a skin condition under which there is a dark, non-cancerous skin patch

As per a report in the news 18, the mother was admitted on Tuesday after which she delivered the baby whose back was thickly covered with black hair

Dr. Pankaj Mishra, CHC Superintendent, and ACMO said that he has never seen such a case in his career of 22 years.

The tyke had hair covering 60% of its body.

The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) was informed about the baby with the rare condition. The RBSK has decided to send the baby to Lucknow for treatment.

Reportedly, Giant congenital melanocytic nevus is a skin condition characterised by an abnormally dark, noncancerous skin patch composed of pigment-producing cells called melanocytes.

According to Dr . Ikran Hussain, the boy will soon recover. Meanwhile, both the infant and the mother are said to be healthy
