Gadkari Inaugurates 3 Lane Koilwar Bridge In Bihar
Patna, May 14: Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Saturday inaugurated 3 lane downstream of Koilwar bridge over Sone river in Bihar and said that a vast network of roads and bridges being laid with assistance of the Centre would accelerate the pace of development and bring prosperity to people of the state.
Gadkari while inaugurating the bridge through video conferencing from New Delhi, said that Centre was giving all sort of assistance to Bihar to improve infrastructural facilities for better connectivity.
The number of mega bridges constructed over big rivers in Bihar during the regime of Narendra Modi government at the Centre, was higher than the bridges earlier existed, he added.
Union Minister said that Central government would make huge investment to increase the road connectivity over next few years and there would be remarkable improvement in quality of roads which could match the quality of roads of US in next three years.
He said that 15 new ROBs would be constructed over SHs in Bihar for further improvement in connectivity. Construction work of 17 new ROBs were going on. Gadkari said that the Centre had also approved for construction of greenfield expressways on various routes in Bihar.
A cluster of industries could be set up alongside expressways to boost economic activities and pace of development, he added. Union Minister said that Ministers and MPs from Bihar had been regularly meeting him with request for approval of various projects. He was prompt in approving proposals as much as possible. He pointed out that all proposals of Union Minister R K Singh regarding road and bridge construction in Shahabad region had been cleared and most of them were completed.
Gadkari invited Bihar Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen to come to New Delhi and he would see what more could be done to improve road connectivity in Bihar. He appreciated the efforts of all MPs and Ministers from Bihar for development of Bihar.
