Brinda Karat To Receive ‘Krantisinh Nana Patil Puraskar’

Sangli (Maharashtra), July 18: Senior leader of Communist Party of India (M) and former Rajya Sabha MP Ms Brinda Karat has been selected for this year’s prestigious “Krantisinh Nana Patil Social Purskar”, on behalf of Krantisinh Nana Patil Lokvidhyapeeth,(KNPL) Sangli.

A statement issued by the KNPL, stated that, Ms Karat has been selected for her contribution in students’ struggle and her social works as a Rajyasabha MP . She was elected in 2005 from West Bengal.

Ms Karat also worked for cotton mill employees in Delhi and worked to fulfill ordinary people’s demands.

The nature of the award is Rs 21,000 in cash, Manpatra and Manchinha(plaque).
The award will be given away on August 6 at Krantisinh Nana Patil Hall in Vita of this district, it added.
