Shattered box office expectations :Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ sets box office on fire

Chennai, June 7 : Kamal Haasan’s latest Tamil film “Vikram” has already shattered box office expectations, collecting more than Rs.100 crore domestically alone and earning Rs.150 crore globally, making it the actor-director’s biggest opener ever.

The film, as per trade sources, is emerging as the biggest blockbuster of Kamal Haasan’s career. While the film is on fire in the South, it would seem that the film has not found as many takers in the Hindi belt earning only Rs.2 crore, falling heavily short of the early gross of Telugu behemoth “RRR” and Kannada mammoth “KGF: Chapter 2”.

Entertainment industry tracker Ramesh Bala posted on his Twitter handle”#Vikram has debuted at No.3 at the WW Box office for the June 3rd to 5th weekend Box office.. 1. #TopGunMaverick – $167 Million 2. #JurassicWorldDominion- $55 Million 3. #Vikram – $21 Million 4. #DoctorStrange- $20.65 Million 5. #TheBadGuys- $12 Million”

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted “VIKRAM’ SCORES BIG NUMBERS IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETS… #Vikram is having a DREAM RUN #Overseas… Total till Saturday… USA: $ 1,372,386 [₹ 10.65 cr] #UK: £ 2,86,589 [₹ 2.78 cr] #Australia: A$ 463,506 [₹ 2.60 cr] #NZ: NZ$ 47,285 [₹ 24.01 lacs] contd… “

“Vikram” has so far been critically and commercially acclaimed and is further poised to be one of the highest grossing Indian movies of this year doing particularly well in Tamil Nadu, followed by Kerala, Karnataka and the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
