Kolkata, Feb 15 : After a gap of nearly two years, ace thespian Meghnad Bhattacharya is going to hit the silver screen again. The courtesy goes to the forthcoming Bengali film ‘Agnimanthan’, a Prabir Roy directorial. The film will be released this year. Meghnad is playing the character named Dibbyajyoti Roy, an authoritarian man. But his family also has a tone of compromise. As a consequence, a struggle for existence began. His life takes a new turn as well as a u-turn. Here drifts the narrative of the film. The ace actor Bhattacharya says, “The film is purely political. “People now forgot to protest”, said the director, who is a known face in the television and film industry of Bengal, during the outdoor shoot of the film at the Aaranyaak Resort in Bagnan. “It is time to turn around again. The time has come to protest. That’s what I attempted to say through this film”, added director Prabir Roy.

Apart from Meghnad Bhattacharya, Moumita Gupta, Anindo Sarkar, Baishali Majumder, Oshni Das and others have also acted in the film. Prolific cinematographer Santanu Bannerjee is filming ‘Agnimanthan’ as Buddha Ganguly is in charge of composing the music.
