Love And Loneliness-Themed Entertainers On IFFK Inaugural Day

Thiruvananthapuram, March 17 : The 26th International Film Festival of Kerala, which will open on March 18, will feature three movies on Day One, depicting the themes of love, isolation and affliction. Aravind Pratap’s Bhojpuri film, Life Is Suffering; Death Is Salvation, portrays the brittleness and isolation of a depressed father, who has just lost his son. The movie will be screened at Sree at 12:15 pm under the category Indian Cinema Now.

Swedish film, Lamb, directed by Valdimar Joannssonm is an unsettling folklore horror that explores the overarching thematic concerns of motherhood, grief engendered by childlessness, and the dark mysteries of human-animal relations. The hugely successful film had collected one million dollar on debut from 583 cinemas. It also won the European Film Awards for Best Visuals in 2021. It will premiere under World Cinema at Tagore Theatre at 10 am. ‘I’m Your Man’ is an unorthodox love story between a hard-headed scientist and a humanoid robot.

The 2021 German science fiction movie by Emmy Award-winning director Maria Schrader (Unorthodox) explores the odd-couple dynamic, questioning love and other human emotions, ending with a provocative twist. The movie will be screened under World Cinema at 2:45 pm at Tagore Theatre.
