Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone Novel Turns 25!

London, June 27: British author JK Rowling on Sunday expressed her gratitude to each reader of the ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,’ as her debut novel completed its 25 years into the world of bibliophiles.

The publishing house of the book, Bloomsbury tweeted that on this day 25 years ago, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling was first published. It was the first novel in the ‘Harry Potter’ series.

Rowling remembered the day when she saw her first novel on a book store, Rowling said, ‘It was the best moment of my life’.

Taking to Twitter, Rowling shared the book cover of her novel and said, “25 years ago today, I saw Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in a bookstore (Waterstones, Prince’s Street, Edinburgh) for the very first time. It was one of the best moments of my life. Thank you, Bloomsbury Books, for taking chance on a total unknown.

“I had absolutely no idea what was coming as I stood dumbstruck in that book shop, staring at my name on the spine of a published novel. Thank you to every single reader who boarded the Hogwarts Express in 1997 and stuck with Harry until the very end. What a journey it was…,” Rowling tweeted.
