Mumbai, Feb 18: After dating for more than four years, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are finally tying the knot on February 19, as per sources.
Beginning their pre-wedding ceremonies, the couple held a mehendi and haldi function at Akhtar’s house in Mumbai on Thursday.
Several pictures and videos from the event have been circulating on social media. The bride-to-be was spotted with her sisters Anusha and Apeksha. Her friends Rhea Chakraborty and Amrita Arora also joined the pre-wedding festivities in yellow attires.
Farhan’s stepmother Shabana Azmi was also present. With the mehendi ceremony over, the couple is now preparing for an exciting sangeet ceremony on Friday. As per reports, Farhan, who is an ace dancer, has something special planned for his bride. Friend Rhea is also expected to perform at the Sangeet ceremony.
According to sources, the couple does not want to have a complex wedding but rather keep it basic surrounded by their loved ones, and as such they are observing a particular dress code with simple clothes such as pastels and whites for the wedding. The couple has chosen to make it an intimate vow ceremony with a very small guest list.
Talking about the guest list, around 50 guests are reportedly expected to attend the wedding that includes Meiyang Chang, Gaurav Kapur, Samir Kochhar, Monica Dogra, Ritesh Sidhwani and Rhea Chakraborty. Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are also reportedly on the guest list.
The couple are reported to have planned a court marriage as well on February 21. This is Farhan’s second marriage. He has two daughters from his first marriage with celebrity stylist Adhuna Bhabani.
