Delhi court to hear on Jan 21 defamation case filed by Nora Fatehi against Jacqueline Fernandez

New Delhi, Dec 19 : A Delhi court listed for January 21 the hearing of a defamation complaint filed by Nora Fatehi against Jacqueline Fernandez on the allegation of defaming her name into a Rs 200 crore Money Laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekar.

Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Gupta listed the matter for January 21 to decide whether to take cognisance on the complaint or not.

Fatehi, a Canadian citizen submitted through her complaint that a defamatory statement was made by Fernandez with mala fide intention and was circulated by the media houses made accused in the complaint with an intent to defame her.

She submitted in her complaint that the allegations made by Fernandez who is also a Bollywood actor, that Fatehi had received gifts from Chandrashekar were wrong.

She further submitted that the only time the complainant spoke to Chandrashekar was when his wife, Leena Maria Paul made her speak to him. The complainant was gifted an iPhone and a Gucci bag by Leena and no gifts were ever received from Chandrashekar.

She had never received a luxury car from Chandrashekar and it was part payment to her brother-in-law Bobby Khan, who Chandrashekar had approached for directing a movie, she said.

Fernandez was summoned by the ED several times in connection with the investigation and has been named as an accused in the supplementary charge sheet. On August, 31 the court took cognisance on the supplementary charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate and asked Fernandez to appear before it.

Fernandez was not arrested in this case and granted bail by the court on November, 15.
