Preponing The Summer Vacations Can Be Wiser In This Hot Climate

Before it is eleven o,clock in the day, temperature on Saturday shot up to sizzling 40 degree. An indication at the days ahead. That way the capital city has broken the record to become the hottest city in the state.

Whereas, in many other places the mercury did not cross 38 degree c. including the traditionally hot place like Sambalpur.

Going by the Met department, the invading heat would be bit worse in the days to come. At least in the five days to come.

On the other, the entire country is in the grip of a hot climate including the national capital, Delhi where the mercury had already soared up to 42 to 44 degree.

Looking at what prevails in Bhubaneswar, for the school children, the weather outside the school enclosures remains equally hostile. And if this continues to be such and becomes more scorching, it should have been better to prepone the summer vacations than waiting till June.

Importantly, the parents of the children have demanded the postponement of school vacations. However, meanwhile the government’s School & Mass Education ministry has taken the cognizance and said that, the ministry is reviewing the situation and a decision shall be taken soon.

It is not that all the children come and go in four-wheelers but a majority take to general transport provided by school or in two-wheelers.

Some parents’ bodies wonder as why the duration of the vacation is going to be shortened down to ten days, as per earlier reports. Although the government defends its proposed vacation time-span, saying that, it is to make up the backlogs because of the Covid-19 interruptions
