Odisha: Reopening Of Pvt Play, KG Schools From Feb 14

Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: The Odisha government on Tuesday,  allowed the reopening of private pre-schools (play and KG) for the academic session 2021-22 in the state. As per the decision, all such institutions have been allowed to reopen from February 14.

The Information and Public Relations department has directed the Private Pre-School Management to strictly abide by the guidelines and enforcement of the Covid appropriate behaviour. The State government has also directed that the School Managements should take utmost care of the small children.

Besides, all the teaching and non-teaching staff must be fully inoculated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

Earlier on Monday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had urged parents to allow their children to go to school and encourage them to strictly follow Covid-19 safety norms.

Stressing on the need for caution during the pandemic times, Patnaik said, “We will move forward. We have been able to fight the pandemic with the support of all. Such pandmic comes once in 100 years. Students, you need not panic as we all are with you. We need to be alert. I request you all to properly follow the Covid-19 guidelines, wear mask and frequently wash hands.”

It is pertinent to mention here that already the schools, colleges and other educational institutions in Odisha have reopened from February 7. The physical mode teaching for students of Classes 8 to 12 have already resumed while classes from standard 1 to 7 will reopen from February 14.
