Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: All Anganwadi centres reopened from on Monday after a gap of around one year across Odisha. With the declining graph of daily COVID-19 cases in the state the Govt. has decided to resume Aanganwadis across the state.
As per the guidelines, the Anganwadi centres reopens from 7.30 am to 9.30 am. The local administration can take Suo-motto decision over the continuity of Aanganwadis over COVID cases in their locality.
Recently, the State Women and Child Development Department had written to all Collectors ahead of reopening of Anganwadi centres suggesting a set of guidelines. The Anganwadi centres across the State were closed since April 19, 2021 due to the second wave of the pandemic.
As per the guidelines, the Anganwadi centres will be kept open from 7.30 am to 9.30 am 25 days a month. Sitting arrangement for serving of morning snacks and hot cooked meals (HCMs) to preschoolers (3-6 year age group) should ensure social distancing among kids.
Rations, in lieu of HCMs and eggs will be given to the Anganwadi children at their doorsteps, in case of children who are not able to come to the centres due to COVID or some other problem or on closure of Anganwadi centre.
The preschool education will resume as per Nua Arunima curriculum at AWCs and outdoor activities will be promoted.
All other Integrated Child Development Services(ICDS) such as immunization, health checkups, referrals and Nutrition and Health Education (NHEd) are to continue, the guidelines say.
