Former UGC Chairman Nominated As Yogi’s Education Advisor
Lucknow, Aug 21: The Uttar Pradesh government has nominated former Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof Dhirendra Pal Singh as Advisor (Education) to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a government spokesman said here on Sunday.
The spokesman said that Prof Dhirendra Pal Singh was the Chairman of the UGC from the year 2018 to the year 2021. “Apart from this, he has discharged various responsibilities in the field of higher education,” he said.
The spokesman said that Prof Singh has also served as the Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, Dr HS Gour University, Sagar and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. “He also has experience of working as the Director of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore,” he said.
The spokesman said that Prof Singh has been an ex-officio member of various organisations, including the Central Advisory Board of Education and Indian Council for Cultural Relations. “He has been associated with various programs and projects at the international level. In view of the contribution of Prof Singh in the world of education he has been honored with many awards,” he said.
