Sensex Down Over 700 Pts

Mumbai, Feb 28: The BSE Sensex on Monday crashed 701 points at 55158.15 in opening session on weak Asian Market amid uncertainty of Russia-Ukraine war. The Nifty too slipped 188 points at 16,470.25. The Sensex registered days high and low at 55,329.46 and 54,833.50 points respectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,506.10 and 16,356.30 points respectively.

The Mid Cap fell 0.83 per cent and Small Cap by 0.57 per cent. The sectoral indices that Finance, Auto, Bankex and Capital Goods dragged the market in early trade. The losers were IndusInd Bank by 2.06 per cent to Rs 907.80, Kotak Bank by 1.92 per cent to Rs 1822.65, Nestle India Ltd by 1.80 per cent to Rs 17,386.05 and Bajaj Finance by 1.72 per cent to Rs 6848.95. The gainers were Tata Steel by 2.89 per cent to Rs 1178.36, Powergrid by 2.33 per cent to Rs 201.90, NTPC by 0.58 per cent to Rs 131.05 and Tech Mahindra by 0.06 per cent to Rs 1390.30.
