Reading Helps To Acquire Life Skills: Javed Akhtar
Pune, March 5 : No matter what you read, but read, reading is essential for life skills, opined Javed Akhtar. Interacting with MIT ADT University students Saturday, he stressed on the importance of reading and that the youth don’t read much. “There is a need for excessive reading. It is a good idea to start with light books and not heavy literature to inculcate a natural inclination towards reading which will in turn help in increasing your vocabulary. Words are like people and known by the company they keep.” He shared his experiences about his journey in Bollywood and, shed some light on the joys and struggle of nurturing the poetry in an essentially non-poetic context, conflict and harmony prose along with the poetry face in the art of script writing for Indian cinema.
“I always enjoy interacting with students. There is always so much to learn from them, especially their questions,” said Akhtar. Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive President and vice-chancellor MIT ADT University, said the lyricist and screen writer Mr. Javed Akhtar is an nnovator. Akhtar sir gave opportunity to the students to learn from his life experiences. It is a unique opportunity to interact with a prominent personality from various fields.
