Chinhara, on Friday sentenced 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000
to one youth convicting him in raping a minor girl.
The convict, a 30-year old Dillip Kumar Behera of Jaguleipada village under Kendrapara Sadar Police station had raped a nine year old girl on July 19,2018 under charamala (stair case of chariot) of the Brahma Taladhwaj chariot taking advantage of darkness near Mausima temple in this coastal odisha town.

According to prosecution the victim,a student of class 4 ,had attended a cultural programme with
her aunty and her elder sister near mausima temple after having darshan of Lord Baladevjew, Maa Sudhadra and Jagannath on July 19, 2018.
She was forcibly taken by accused Dillip kumar Behera, who later raped her.The local people rescued her, nabbed Dillip and handed over him to the police.
The judge while adjudging the case convicted the accused youth 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and imposed a fine Rs 20,000.
The accused,the judge ordered, would further undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for a year more
for offence Under Section 376-B IPC in default of fine amount.
