Kendrapada, Oct 4: In a shocking and heart rendering case, a mother killed her two and half-year-old son in Matiapada village under Pattamundai Police station of the district to flee with her paramour.
Kendrapara SP Madkar Sandeep Sampat, said one Sasmita Nath, mother of three children, had developed extra marital affair with one Laxmidhar Bai, of Guptira village in the absence of her husband who is working in Bengaluru.
The woman sent her two children to her father’s house on the pretext of giving them education and kept her third child, with her.
But for the last six months, Laxmdhar wanted her to send the child somewhere and used to quarrled
with her most of the time over the issue.
On Sunday while quarrelling in a fit of rage they threw the child and the child died.
They said the child died after he fell down while playing on the roof. They took the child to Pattamundai hospital but the doctor declared the child received dead.
The woman later lodged an FIR with the Pattamundai police station alleging that laxmidhar killed the child as she refused to have physical relation with him.
However, during interrogation, both the woman and her paramour confessed to the crime.
On Monday, Pattamundai police exhumed the body and sent it for an autopsy to Aul CHC and arrested the woman and her paramour.
They would be produced before a local court on Tuesday.
