The spine chilling incident that took place in Odisha’s Jenapur area, in Jajpur district, is not only ghastly and barbaric but it does speak about the brazen disregard for the law of the land. Let alone humanity, a word most inappropriate for such a perpetrator.
A small altercation and two lives were crushed to death under the wheels of a freight vehicle.
The incident had taken place on Thursday when a family was on its way back after a funeral nearby. The accused Truck driver gave the mother and daughter a chase for about 15 kms passing obscene comments do many times.
Frustrated with the accused’s behaviors the victim duo were in a panic and when they spotted the accused driver on the way, they had some exchange of angry words which the locals noticed and tried to pacify both the sides.
That was when the daughter lost her cool and slapped the driver for his misdemeanor. The driver threatened the duo to avenge the insult.
After a certain distance when the mother and daughter were going ahead, the accused driver just ran over them and killed both in a coldblooded feat.
The tips from the local witnesses helped the local police to suo-motu file a case of murder and obviously a coldblooded one.
Although the police has apprehended the accused but the incident has sent a shock wave in the area.
The act of the crime revealed that, how human lives can be slaughtered with such bestial intent for revenge
