Scribe Murder: BWJU demands speedy trial of journalist murder case in Jamui

Patna, Aug 13 : The Bihar Working Journalists Union (BWJU) on Saturday strongly condemned the murder of a journalist in Jamui district on August 10 and demanded speedy trial of the
case to ensure stringent punishment to all accused.


BWJU General Secretary K K Sahay said the murder of a young journalist Gokul Yadav of a leading Hindi daily, under Simultala police station area in Jamui district on August 10 was most unfortunate incident which should be condemned by all in strongest possible terms.
He demanded immediate arrest of all accused and speedy trial of the case to ensure stringent punishment to them.
” Murder of journalist is a serious assault on democratic spirit of the country”, Sahay said and demanded from the government to provide adequate security cover to journalists who were vulnerable and facing threats on their lives.
He also demanded immediate payment of compensation of Rs 20 lakhs to family members of the deceased.
National Secretary of Indian Journalists Union (IJU) Shivendra Narain Singh, National Executive Committee(NEC) member Amar Mohan Prasad, senior Journalists Mahesh Kumar Sinha and S P Sinha also condemned the murder of Gokul. He was shot dead by criminals on August 10.
