New Delhi, May 11: The Supreme Court reserves its verdict Wednesday on the plea filed by A G Perarivalan, a convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, seeking an early release. A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice L Nageswara Rao today reserved its order on Perarivalan plea.
The convict, Perarivalan, is undergoing life imprisonment in former PM Rajiv Gandhi assassination and seeking premature release from jail after spending over 30 years in prison.
Perarivalan is currently on bail now.
His lawyer, Gopal Sankaranarayanan, had told the Supreme Court that his conduct is good during his spending in jail, and thereby he should be released.
The Supreme Court today heard the arguments and submissions from all the respective parties, including the petitioner, Respondent and Perarivalan.
