Nashik, Jan 18 : A 45-year-old man here was sent to ten years rigorous imprisonment for forcing his minor daughter into prostitution, the order copy informed on Tuesday.
The convict was identified as Dattatraya Chavan.
In the submission before the court, the prosecution stated that the accused sold his daughter around 14 years ago and later himself lodged a police complaint to cover up his crime.
During the probe, the victim was rescued and she revealed that her father was behind the abhorrent crime.
Based on the evidences presented by the police, District and Sessions Court Judge V S Kulkarni pronounced the accused guilty and also slapped a fine of Rs 1,000.
While, two women accused were acquitted as the charges against them couldn’t be proved.
