Hospital Closed Two Decades Ago, Doctors And Nurses Getting Paid
Kendrapada, May 17: Staff and Doctors of a hospital are receiving salaries despite the fact that the hospital was closed two decades ago.
Former Chief Minister, Biju Pattnaik, had set up an unani hospital at Fakirabad under Kendrapada township during the 1990s with an aim to provide health care service to the minority community.
A doctor and a health worker were engaged in the hospital and the hospital was also offering facilities for indoor patient treatment. The hospital went on functioned for 8 years.
The hospital was closed after people prefer to get Pathological treatment and not visited the hospital. Several business establishments were later set up at the place of the hospital.
Local people alleged that the doctor and the health worker were getting their monthly salary, though the hospital was closed about two decades earlier. Local people demanded Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik, look into it and to take steps in this regard.
