Berhampur, Apr 26: In a shocking incident here today, the District Education Officer (DEO), Ganjam was attacked to bleed by a woman teacher’s husband in her office premises.
It’s said that, while Banita Senapati(DEO), was going for her lunch, the woman teacher’s husband, Suman Sahu attacked heavily on the former’s face within a subtle altercation, on the office premises. Injured Senapati has been immediately admitted to the MKCG Hospital.
The woman teacher, who works as the Headmistress In-Charge of Belaguntha High School, had been staging dharna in front of the Ganjam DEO office demanding early release of her pending salary, which was put on hold since December 2021.
The Town Police has detained the Sahu couple following the incident.
