Bhubaneswar, July 27 : The STF of Odisha Police have arrested a drug peddler and seized brown sugar weighing 1050 gm, Rs 28,100 cash and other incriminating materials were from his possession
STF sources on Wednesday said on the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a team of STF, Bhubaneswar near Railway Level Crossing, Arad bazar, Balasore on July 26 against illegal deal/possession of Narcotic Drugs.
The team apprehended one Sheikh Mezu of Sahadevkhunta under Arad Bazar Police station in Balasore district.
During search contraband brown sugar weighing 1050 gm, cash of Rs 28,100 and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession.
The accused person, STF sources said, could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which he was arrested and forwarded to the
court of District & Sessions cum Special Judge, Balasore.
A case U/s 21(c) of NDPS Act 1985 was registered against him and the investigation is on.

Since 2020, STF has seized more than 56 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine and more than 111 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna, Opium 750 gram and arrested more than 157 drug dealers and peddlers.
