New Delhi, Jan 28 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has declared a cash reward for information against five accused allegedly involved in BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar’s murder in West Bengal. CBI sources said the accused have been absconding and declared proclaimed offenders by a court. The CBI has declared a reward of Rs 50,000 against each of the accused. The CBI registered a case on August 25 last year and initiated a probe.
The case was registered by the police on a complaint from Sarkar’s mother. Goons purportedly linked to the Trinamool Congress were blamed for the May 2, 2021 murder of Abhijit Sarkar soon after the Trinamool retained power in West Bengal. Sarkar was dragged out of his house and killed.
