CBI registers case against former Rajya Sabha MP KD Singh, son, seven others in alleged cheating case

New Delhi, July 26 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against former Rajya Sabha member KD Singh for allegedly cheating and misappropriation worth crores of rupees invested by people in his Chit Fund Companies on false promises. The probe agency said on Tuesday.
The probe agency has booked KD Singh and eight others including his son Karandeep Singh for allegedly cheating people by making false promises to get a heavy return on their investments in his companies, CBI said.
CBI has filed a case against them on the request of Uttar Pradesh Government and further notification from Government of India and has taken over the probe of the case, earlier registered at Police Station Kotwali, Azamgarh(UP) on the allegations of cheating and misappropriation of worth crores of rupees invested by a large number of private persons in two private companies on false promises by the accused, CBI said.
Searches were conducted at twelve different locations including Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Bihar, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
