Attack on journalist: BWJU demands immediate arrest of accused
Patna, June 5 : Bihar Working Journalists Union (BWJU) on Sunday demanded the immediate arrest of all the accused who were involved in the murderous attack on a senior journalist Brajkishore Singh and his family members at Dhanushi village under Kartahan police station area in the state’s Vaishali district.
General Secretary of Bihar Working Journalists Union (BWJU) K K Sahay strongly condemned the incident that took place last Thursday and demanded the immediate arrest of all the accused in the case. Singh and his family members sustained serious injuries, and were treated in hospital, he said.
Sahay said Prasad and his family members were forced to leave their ancestral home at Dhanushi village, to take shelter at a safe place. If all the accused in the case were not arrested soon, BWJU would be forced to launch an agitation, he warned. A case in this connection had already been launched at the police station concerned, he stated.
He expressed his grave concern over growing incidents of attack on journalists in various parts of Bihar over the past few months and demanded the government take concrete steps for their safety and security.
