With Indian wedding rituals having a huge fan base all over the world, the ‘Joota Chuppai Rasam’ where the bride’s younger sisters steal their Jiju’s shoes and return it only after they receive their desirable gifts happens at most Indian weddings keeping the atmosphere fun and alive. Bollywood movies like Hum Apke Hain Kaun has made this ritual more popular among all after 90s.
On the social media front, a video has gone viral where the sister-in-law is seen taking off the groom’s shoes while he is sitting with his to-be bride. Generally, the shoes are taken away from the groom when he is not looking or his concentration is somewhere else so that he doesn’t know who took them and where did they hide them. In the video, the opposite takes place when the groom is seen sitting with his bride on a sofa on stage surrounded by their family and friends and the sister-in-law suddenly comes and starts taking off his shoes.

Once the sister-in-law takes off one shoe she struggles for quite some time to take off the other as well. The groom being adamant for a long time gives up and lets her take the other shoe as well.
