Punjabi University Emerge NZ Varsities Football Champions

Chandigarh, Dec, 31: Hosts Punjabi University, Patiala, won the North Zone Inter University Men’s Football Tournament at the Punjabi University Campus in Patiala on Thursday, it was reported on Friday.
In their final Super League match Punjabi University defeated Panjab University, Chandigarh by 2-1.
Mohammad Imran and Deepak Kumar scored one goal each for the winning team.
Punjabi University won two quarter-final Super League matches and played a draw against Sant Baba Bhag Singh University Jalandhar to emerge champions.
Sant Baba Bhag Singh University drew with Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar on Thursday. With one victory and two draws, they finished runners-up.

Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Panjab University Chandigarh got third and fourth positions, respectively.
These four universities have qualified for the All India Inter-University Men’s Football Tournament to be organised from January 11 to 15, 2022 at MG University, Kottayam.
