Prakash Jha will soon start ‘Half Lion’, series on Ex-PM Narsimha Rao
Mumbai: Ace Filmmaker Prakash Jha will soon start filming his next web-series that is based on the life and times of former Prime Minister P. V. Narsimha Rao. The promo released by the makers on Tuesday describes Rao as the “Most uncelebrated prime minister who rebuilt India”, as the Instagram post garnered only 772 views in 48 hours.
Despite being the “man who laid the foundation of new India we know today”, much is still under wraps and viewers interest will have to be awakened.
The official handle of Prakash Jha Production confirmed the news on Monday with a teaser.
It said: “Applause Entertainment joins hands with Aha Studio to co-produce a premium bilingual series based on the book ‘Half Lion’ by Vinay Sitapati. The biopic of P.V. Narsimha Rao will be directed by the National Award Winner Prakash Jha @prakashjha27 @Prettisiingh @ApplauseSocial.”
“Half Lion” is based on the book by the same name written by Vinay Sitapati.
Applause Entertainment and aha Studio have come together to mount the series, which will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil in 2023.
Confirming the same, Applause Entertainment handle dropped a teaser and wrote, “Up Next! Applause Entertainment joins hands with Aha Studio to co-produce a premium bilingual series based on the book ‘Half Lion’ by Vinay Sitapati.
Born on June 28, 1921, Pamulaparthi Venkata Narasimha Rao, was a lawyer and astute political leader. He was the ninth Prime Minister of India from 1991 to 1996.
