Perform In Delhi First, Channi Tells Kejriwal

Pathankot, Dec 24: Terming that his government is implementing the common man’s agenda, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday told AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to perform first in Delhi before promising the moon to the people in Punjab.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a high-level bridge from Talwara Jatta to Simbli Gujran, the Chief Minister accused the AAP chief of eyeing the wealth of Punjab due to which he said he was building castles in air to attract people.

He dared Kejriwal that before rolling out lies before Punjabis, he should have the courage to announce cheap power and petrol to residents of Delhi in line with what the Punjab government has done.

He said the AAP leadership should understand that Punjabis will not allow any outsider to rule them. Channi said the Punjab government was providing the cheapest petrol and diesel in the entire northern region and the power tariff was the cheapest in the entire country.

Making a scathing attack on Badals and Capt. Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister said these elitist leaders patronised the drug mafia by sheltering its kingpin. However, he has booked Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia for his misdeeds.

He said every person involved in drug trade will be nailed.
Vowing to maintain peace and amity in the state at all costs, Channi said inimical forces were hell bent on destabilizing Punjab. However, the nefarious designs of these forces will be foiled.

He said the support of the people was a pointer that the Congress will again form a government in the state.

He announced that a medical college will be set up on 32 acres in Pathankot besides merging the Hindu cooperative bank with other cooperative banks. He announced approval of Rs 120 crore for an elevated road along with a slew of projects.
