MLA Ram Singh Kaira from Bhimtal joins BJP

New Delhi : Ahead of the Assembly elections in Uttarakhand next year, independent MLA Ram Singh Kaira from Bhimtal, Uttarakhand joined the BJP on Friday.

Kaira joined the party in the presence of Union Minister Smriti Irani and other state BJP leaders at party headquarters in New Delhi.

Kaira was the third MLA from the state who have joined the party ahead of the assembly election next year.

Welcoming, Kaira in the party fold, Smriti Irani said, “it’s a great moment for the party and I hope that Kaira will take forward the government’s policy at the ground level in Uttarakhand,”

She said MLA was a grassroots leader whose induction will help the BJP.

Kaira is the third MLA who joined the BJP in recently.

Congress MLA Raj Kumar from Purola and Independent MLA from Dhanaulti, Pritam Singh joined BJP a few days ago.

Ram Singh Kaira was the Congress State General Secretary and fought the 2012 election on a Congress ticket.

Talking to the media after joining the party, Kaira said,

“it is a great day for me to join the nationalist party which is working for the poor of the country.”

He also hailed the Prime Minister for his work to boost the development of the hill state and said under his leadership a lot of development work has been carried out in the State.
