Meghalaya: 12 Congress legislators join Trinamool Congress
Shillong, Nov 25 : Unhappy with the Congress’ top leadership former Congress Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mukul Sangma, along with 11 other Congress MLAs, on Wednesday joined the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).
Congress is the principal opposition party in this hill state, with 18 MLAs in the 60- member Assembly.
Following this move, AITC is now the principal opposition party in Meghalaya.
