‘Hindutvavadi’ spread hatred, violence: Rahul

New Delhi, Dec 24: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday accused ‘Hindutvavadi’ elements of spreading hatred and violence in the country and said this will not be tolerated at any cost.

“Hindutvavadi always spread hatred and violence. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians have to pay the price for it. It will not be tolerated any more,” the Congress leader tweeted in Hindi, with hashtag ‘India Against Hindutva and Haridwar Hate Assembly’.

The reaction of the Congress MP comes after a video of a ‘Dharam Sansad’ in Haridwar went viral after some speakers made derogatory statements against a particular community.

On Wednesday, the Uttarakhand Police said it had taken cognizance of the video and a case was registered against Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi and others under section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Haridwar.

Earlier this month, Rizvi embraced Hinduism and changed his name to Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi.

On December 12, the Congress leader, addressing a rally in Jaipur, upon the people to “uproot” the BJP at the Centre which he termed ‘Hindutvavadi’.
