Panaji: The Congress on Saturday announced a pre-poll alliance with Goa Forward Party (GFP) in Goa for the upcoming assembly elections to be held early next year.

“We have sorted out issues which happened in the past. We will contest the election together,” he said.

Dinesh Gundu Rao claimed that people would reject the Bharatiya Janata Party and vote for the party and alliance which would bring development in the state.

Gao Forward Party President Vijay Sardesai said,” What happened in the past is past. We want to look at the bright future. Today is an auspicious day and we want to liberate Goa.”

Last month, Sardesai had met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi and extended his support to the Congress Party for the assembly elections.
