Amid attacks and violence TMC observes Khela Hobe Diwas in Tripura

Agartala : Trinamool Congress today observed Khela Hobe Diwas (celebrate the day to play) across Tripura at block level calling upon all secular, nationalist and democratic parties for a united fight against BJP in Tripura for a real sense of development.
TMC MPs Dr Santanu Sen, Prasun Banerjee, Abu Taher and Dr Kakali Ghosh Dastidar along with Trinamool workers have played football here in the morning to kick off the celebration of Khela Hobe.
According to TMC leaders, the enthusiastic youths have played as many as 100 locations of the state as the formal beginning of political activities of Trinamool Congress in Tripura.
In the event, Dr sen said that BJP cadres and police in Tripura have hands in gloves to prevent the opposition parties and the barbaric attacks on female MPs of Trinamool in South Tripura yesterday once again proved that BJP has lost all values and morals of Indian society, just to remain in power.
“The attackers not only pelted stone and bricks on their vehicles also, outraged the modesty of parliament members, looted bags and important documents and abused them in presence of police. Six people including a personal assistant of MP Aparupa Poddar were injured in the attacks.
Unfortunately, even after 24 hours of the incident in front of police, nobody has been arrested yet,” Dr Sen said.
He pointed out that Trinamool Congress has held a protest demonstration and march on VIP Road and later sat below the statue of Mahatma Gandhi last evening and there also, police disturbed them to hold a peaceful protest. However, the injured MPs Dola Sen and Aparupa Poddar had reached Kolkata last night along with other injured persons for better treatment.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress youth wing’s president and Tollywood heart-throb Saayoni Ghosh have arrived here this morning to take part in the expansion activities of the TMC organisation and meet the youth leaders of Tripura. The top TMC leaders of West Bengal have been camping in a group since the last week of July when Tripura police detained volunteers of poll strategist Prashant Kishore’s I-PAC.
“The leaders would continue to be here till the full-fledged committee has been formed and afterwards the entire political activities would be carried out in Tripura under the direct supervision of party’s national general secretary Abhishekh Banerjee. Till next assembly elections top leaders of TMC would be working at district and block level along with local leaders to dislodge BJP government here,” said former president of state Trinamool congress Ashis Lal Singha. He further alleged that the state administration has not been allowing TMC to hold even small rallies though BJP is almost every day doing programmes with hundreds of people violating Covid protocol. The police are trying to implicate Trinamool Congress leaders and workers in false cases at the behest of ruling BJP and they have been conspiring to spoil TMC, Singha pointed out.
He also alleged that the BJP was misusing the police and administration out of fear of losing power and added, “The TMC leaders and workers are being attacked, their vehicles are being vandalized and false cases are being registered against them but the criminals are being set free. We know one day those anti-social elements will give a reply to the BJP leaders who are today using them against TMC.”
The Biplab Kumar Deb government has been constantly creating pressure on media and TV channels have been shut down for telecasting the atrocities on TMC leaders in the police station, alleged TMC MP Kakali Ghosh Dastidar adding, “Police have been targeting media outlets and journalists whoever is writing or broadcasting news against BJP and Biplab Deb government. We shall not allow this thing to happen, as TMC has full faith in the judiciary and administration.”
TMC alleged that this is the fourth attack in two weeks on top leaders of Trinamool in Tripura after-party national general secretary and Loksabha MP Abhishekh Banerjee, which are well designed and being done with the direction of state BJP leaders and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
