Berhampur: The Tapaswini-Sumit marital discord issue which rocked Berhampur city, the business-hub of Southern dist. gets more twisty and crumpled. The city police on Saturday started an investigation into the case. A team of cops led by Berhampur ASP Ramesh Chandra Sethi visited Sumit Sahu’s residence at Brahmanagar to enquire about the latter’s whereabouts.
However, Sumit’s father reportedly told the cops that his son was unwell following which, the team had to return without meeting Sumit.
“Sumit’s father told us that he is sick and undergoing treatment. But he not divulged his son’s whereabouts. We are trying our level best to end the marital discord,” Sethi added.
On the other hand, Tapaswini has once again started her sit-in in front of her in-laws’ house at Brahmanagar. She is staging the demonstration under a tent, braving the cold nights. This time around, she said she would not give up till justice is delivered to her.
“My petition was scheduled to be heard in the court today. I hoped a judgement in my favour, at least a direction to make arrangements for my living. But that did not happen since my in-laws’ advocate did not file the reply and instead, asked for 15 more days’ time. However, the court has fixed Monday for the hearing,” Tapaswini said, adding that Sumit was not responding to anyone’s call, not even the CDMO.
She also alleged that Sumit came to his house Friday night. She claimed she had seen him going out of the house by scaling the backside boundary wall.
