Cuttack : Ensuring strict actions against forceful Chanda or donation seekers, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh on Thursday has asked citizens to come forward and inform regarding any sort of notorious act in terms of Chanda collection ahead of the festive season.
A tweet on the official handle of DCP, Cuttack read:
“We urge the citizens of Cuttack City to come forward and inform us about any kind of forceful collection of Chanda in the name of Puja during ensuing Puja festival.”
The tweet further added:
We will keep your identity confidential and take strong action against those unscrupulous elements for collecting Chanda.”
It is noteworthy that, two persons had been arrested for forcibly collecting money in the name of Durga Puja from a businessman in Cuttack town of Odisha, police said on Wednesday.
