Bhubaneswar : The Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch (CB) have seized a live Pangolin in the capital city and arrested three persons.
Sources today said acting on a tip off a team of STF conducted a raid and arrested the three
persons u/s 379 /411/ 413/120 (B) IPC and sec 51 of wildlife Protection Act 1973 on Thursday.
Police identified the accused as Chitrasen Sahu, Khageswar Sahu and Bhagirathi Behera.
They were nabbed while trying to sell the mammal
The Pangolin was later handed over to DFO Chandaka Wildlife Division.
The STF has so far seized 15 leopard skin, nine tusks, two deer skins, four live pangolins and arrested 32 people during a special drive launched against wildlife poachers and persons dealing in illegal trade of wildlife parts in the last one year.
