Bhubaneswar : Police picked up Chief of Manababad Sangathan (Humanitarian Organisation) Manas Das from his residence here on Thursday. He was picked up on charges of crimes including murder and attempt to murder.
According to reports, a special team of Khurda Police under the leadership of SDPO picked Manas Das up from his Saheed Nagar-based house in Bhubaneswar.
Currently, police are interrogating him in Khurda Police station over the allegation and charges leveled against him.
Several cases of torture, murder and attempt to murder were filed at different parts of the State against Manas Das a couple of days after a disturbing video of cruel torture to a father-son duo came to the fore. The incident had created a massive outcry after the video of the incident went viral.
In the viral video, it can be seen that the father-son duo was beaten up mercilessly allegedly by the members of Manabbad Sangathan, which has been founded by Manas Das.
