Odisha: Lease Hold Lands To Be Free Hold Soon

Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: The Odisha government is planning to turn all the Leased and Distributed lands to Free hold soon. To make private land buying and selling process smoother and simpler in city areas, the state Government is planning to make the lands free hold. The General Admin. Dept. has decided to implement this process at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Berhampur, in first phase.

To Leased and Distributary Land Owners who now owns a permanent and heritable ownership, once these lands will turn to Free Hold Ownership mode the buyer don’t have to sell the immovable piece of land to third party and subsequently no worries for bank loans. The Free hold owner will have Suo-moto permanent settlement. The state GA dept. is now fixing the required modalities now. For this the buyer does not have to pay a nominal fee only. These money will be saved in CIDF and will be further invested major infrastructure development works of city, said Kabindra Sahu, secretary, Bhubaneswar development Authority.
